Mission
The goal of the Fourth Millennium Foundation is to help enable the greatest adventure ever undertaken: interstellar exploration. Attaining a second home for humanity and all of Earth's life forms.
This is a charity. No profit can be made that justifies the cost. Our current knowledge of physics tells us interstellar travel is possible, but even with advanced technology trips will take many decades to centuries. Ships will leave Earth never to return. No company or government space organization is interested in seriously financing such very long term projects. Also, funding for fundamental research into space propulsion technology is surprisingly low. Nevertheless, interstellar exploration is a charity for the benefit of humanity as a whole.
When backed up by enough people, in time the dream can still come true. That is why the FMF was founded. The FMF conducts fundraising campaigns to help scientists willing to work on space propulsion. Also, we manage an investment fund that, if enough donors and sponsors are found, will once be large enough to help finance interstellar expeditions.
